First-Ever “Wyoming Winterfest” Brings Together Organizations Throughout the City

WYOMING, MICH. – A grassroots collective of individuals and organizations in the city of Wyoming is getting together to put on an event with a goal of bringing neighborhoods together.

Dubbed “Wyoming Winterfest,” the event on Saturday, February 18 will be held at seven sites in neighborhoods across the city. Each site will have its own slate of events, but all will feature food, family-friendly activities, and giveaways from businesses and other local organizations. Each site brings together groups within its neighborhood who share a common goal of improving the quality of life in the Wyoming community.

All events are free and open to the public. Some sites will feature outdoor events; more information on specific event partners and activities will be available at OneWyoming.com.

Why: We all know what happens during winter in West Michigan. We spent the spring, summer, and fall working in the yard; taking walks around the neighborhood; or, playing at the local park. But once the holidays have wrapped up, and January’s cold and dark take over, we hibernate for weeks. Sure, we might lend a hand digging out the driveway, but wouldn’t it be great to spend time catching up with neighbors and warming up with some family fun before the snow melts? That’s where Wyoming Winterfest comes in.

Primary Sponsors: Family Fare; Metro Health; Wyoming Community Foundation; The Salvation Army Kroc Center.
